One 1894 book titled Sketches and Portraits of the Virginia Conference (Volume II) by Rev. John J. Lafferty featuring biographical sketches of pastors belonging to the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Two pages in the front of the volume show numbered portraits of each pastor and an index matching the numbers to their names. The order of the names in the index does not correspond to the pages in the volume.
