Fillmore Jordan Bible
One 1861 pocket Bible of the New Testament previously owned by Confederate soldier Fillmore Jordan. The Bible has a hole through the front cover and indentation through a majority of the pages where an alleged bullet went through the book during fighting in Petersburg, Virginia. Jordan was a member of the 12th Battalion, Virginia Light Artillery.
J. S. Downs Correspondence
One March 4, 1925 letter from J. S. Downs in Chickasha, Oklahoma to "My dear Madam" in Norfolk, Virginia. The correspondence concerns Downs's appreciation for information relating to Captain Sutton during the Civil War, and also provides a brief biography of J. S. Downs.
