Hughes family

Primarily 1990s-2003 genealogy research of the Hughes family of Norfolk, Virginia. The research includes correspondence, handwritten notes, birth, death, and marriage certificates, genealogical tables, census records, database records, and various other materials that largely concern John A. Hughes, Mary Cox Hughes, William Hughes, and the Hughes family originating in Wales. The research appears to have been compiled by Robert Harcourt and Mike O'Shea.

Four copies of "My Family Memoirs," written by Thomas Hughes (1850-1941). The collection includes one copy of the first edition 1880 printing and three copies of the second edition 1918 printing. The book chronicles the Hughes family from Felix/Phelime Hughes's arrival in the colonies in 1739 to the early 20th century.
