One 1817-1818 minute book includes minutes for the Norfolk and Hampton Steam Boat Company, which changed names to the Richmond Steam Boat Company during the meeting recorded on June 8, 1818. The book lists individuals and number of stocks purchased for the Richmond Steam Boat Company. The first nine entries for stock purchases are for the Norfolk and Hampton Steam Boat Company. Initial members of the organization included Teackle Savage, Fortescue Whittle, Wright Southgate, Butler Maury, Philip Henop, and Albert Allmand.
