A clipping is pasted inside the front cover, and the first page prominently displays the business name of the North Carolina Phosphate Company of Castle Hayne, North Carolina. The second ledger contains charts listing date, railway, car number, and weight. Notable business mentioned inside the second ledger include Petersburg Granite Quarrying Company and P. Linehan & Sons.
