One circa 1902-1930 scrapbook of newspaper clippings, correspondence, certificates, business cards, handwritten search warrants, and lists of police officers on duty, relating to Norfolk police detective Paul L. Rose of Norfolk, Virginia. Topics in the scrapbook include murderer Leo Cuthbert Thurman, politics, and crime. The scrapbook spans the career of Paul Rose as a detective and primarily includes clippings of crimes in the Norfolk area.

Primarily materials relating to reunions of the Class of 1950 from Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia. The collection includes an original student handbook from 1949, materials listing classmembers' names and addresses, and various miscellaneous materials collected by and relating to Rene A. Henry.

One 1907 postcard and three 1887-1921 booklets relating to the Civil War in Virginia. Topics include the Battle of Manassas, Battles of Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville, and the Battle of Hampton Roads.

Miscellaneous materials related to the S. S. United States luxury passenger liner. Includes materials from a 1984 public auction for items on board the ship, which took place at Norfolk International Terminal in Norfolk, Virginia. Also includes photographs from 1992 when the S. S. United States was towed to Turkey from Newport News, Virginia.

The bulk of the materials are from the 1950s-1980s, although there is a strong representation of materials dating from the 1920s to 2014.

The Sargeant Memorial Collection Postcard Collection houses postcards from the Norfolk area, Hampton Roads, Richmond, Washington, D.C., the state of Virginia and surrounding states, and the Jamestown Exposition. Some postcards in the collection are postmarked from the early 1900s.
