One circa 1959 scrapbook of newspaper clippings relating to Reid Spencer's campaign for state senate, Alex H. Bell's assumption of Norfolk City Treasurer duties, and the desegregation of public schools in Norfolk, Virginia. Also included are copies of letters between Norman Olitsky and Louis S. Hudgins concerning Alex H. Bell's support of Reid Spencer on city time.

There are also images of prominent local figures during the ceremonies marking the demolition of S. C. Armstrong School in January 1953. Some of the slides have "Willie Mae Watson" printed on the reverse side.
