1800s-1840s Collection of Legal and Commercial Documents, Norfolk, Virginia
Includes handwritten legal/court and commercial documents from the Borough of Norfolk and Norfolk County, Virginia, dated between 1800 and 1835. Also includes a Norfolk County land grant from 1692.
Allmand Family Papers
Primarily nineteenth century correspondence, legal documents, memorandums, photographs, and miscellaneous papers from the Allmand Family of Norfolk, Virginia. Also includes three 1828-1843 ledger books of John Allmand, one 1837-1840 letter book of John Allmand, and one book of religious interpretation, likely written by Reverend John Singer Wallace. This collection also includes legal documents from the Estate of William Keeling and the Stone family.

Also includes a letter of attorney, list of Revolutionary War militia officers, two letters of correspondence with their accompanying envelopes, and the circa 1900 envelope of attorney A. Johnston Ackiss that at one time housed these eighteenth- and nineteenth-century documents.
