One 22-page typed paper titled Allmand-Archer House, written by Cynthia Linn Smith, Colonial American Architecture, April 19, 1978. The paper includes a preface, introduction, history, floor plans, detailed descriptions of the building, and concluding remarks for the house built at 327 Duke Street, Norfolk, Virginia.

Primarily nineteenth century correspondence, legal documents, memorandums, photographs, and miscellaneous papers from the Allmand Family of Norfolk, Virginia. Also includes three 1828-1843 ledger books of John Allmand, one 1837-1840 letter book of John Allmand, and one book of religious interpretation, likely written by Reverend John Singer Wallace. This collection also includes legal documents from the Estate of William Keeling and the Stone family.

Mid-20th century to early-21st century pamphlets, brochures, booklets, and other promotional materials relating to planning, development, and redevelopment in Norfolk, Virginia. Most of the materials relate to downtown Norfolk.

This collection includes 35mm color photographic slides documenting development projects in downtown Norfolk, Virginia and in various city neighborhoods, development planning studies and projects around the city, and planning-related maps and graphics. Some aerial photographs are included. Some slides are missing.

Demolition permits issued by the City of Norfolk Department of Public Works, Division of Building inspection from 1893 to 1956. Each record item contains a building permit; some include associated correspondence and documents.

Approximately 350 negatives featuring aerial photographs of downtown Norfolk, Virginia between 1963 and 1975. The negatives include shots of City Hall, coal piers, merchandise piers, Ghent, Old Dominion University, and Foreman Field. There are also a few scenes of rural Virginia Beach, Virginia.
