Folder 1 of 2 containing photographs of various buildings located in the City of Norfolk.  Featured are building interiors, exteriors, panoramic views of buildings in various Norfolk neighborhoods, high-rise buildings, homes, religious buildings, commercial buildings, and recreational facilities.

Five circa 1940s photographs showing scenes of Lafayette Park in Norfolk, Virginia. The photographs include two images of the pond with waterfowl and tiered fountain in the center, interior and exterior shots of the greenhouse, and a caged bear. The photographs were created from the five negatives that accompany the collection.

Annual reports, survey reports, and other published materials from the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Open Space in the City of Norfolk, Virginia. This 1913-1997 collection primarily includes materials from the Bureau of Recreation and Norfolk Botanical Garden.

Fourteen passes, ticket stubs, and membership cards to various venues and organizations in Norfolk and Virginia Beach dating between the late 1910s to early 1930s.  These venues and organizations included are Seaside Park, Auspices Norfolk Sleuth Club, Norva Theatre, Coral Gables Kennel Club, Ocean View Park, Virginia Electric and Power Company, Woodmen of the World Club, Loyal Order of Moose, B.P.O. Elks, and Norfolk Fair.

The collection includes news clippings on various topics and places across Virginia. It is divided into three main sections: general Virginia subjects; Virginia counties; and Virginia cities, towns and places. Each section is organized into sub-topics as appropriate. The collection also includes a section on North Carolina and several other states.
