One 1918-1923 scrapbook created by Annie Lee Wade in Norfolk, Virginia. Items pasted onto scrapbook pages include photographs, correspondence, cards, clippings, and other ephemeral materials. Several pages feature items relating to Annie Lee Wade and her lover, Lloyd Barnard.

Scope and Contents

Twenty-two 1873-1890 invitations to Belle Tunstall for dances, balls, social club meetings, and the unveiling of the Robert E. Lee monument. Also includes one newspaper clipping, three envelopes addressed to Belle Tunstall, and an 1878 note from the Norfolk Treasurer's office for H. Proescher to attend a meeting of the Common Council.

Scope and Contents

Three handwritten diaries from 1918 to 1926, chronicling Eleanor Baker's experiences, attitudes, and observations. Popular subjects discussed in her personal accounts include: travel, boys, dances, plays, and "tea parties." A majority of her diary entries take place in Paris, France and Saint Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands.

Scope and Contents Three 1927-1944 scrapbooks containing photographs, newspaper clippings, postcards, correspondence, and other ephemera relating to Maury High School, Virginia State Teachers College, high school and college football, social engagements, sororities, wedding announcements, and the United States Navy during World War II. The first two scrapbooks dating from 1927 to 1935 and from 1935 to 1942 are personal to Mary Arthur Billups (Prince), whereas the third scrapbook dating from 1941 to 1944...
