The information gathered spans from the 1700s through the late 1900s and the family geographic locations primarily include Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

One typed manuscript for Thomas J. Wertenbaker's 1931 classic book on the history of Norfolk. The manuscript places emphasis on the first two centuries of Norfolk's history and outlines the time period from 1880 to 1930. Each page is stamped with a date of returned proof.

One excerpt of The Lyfe of Saynt Clare, Folio CCCix-CCCxv. An envelope that originally housed the manuscript is labeled "Imprint of Wynkyn de Werde, Evidently several pages of a book printed by him" and addressed to Robert H. Tunstall of Norfolk, Virginia.

One 1961-1962 typescript for William Oliver Stevens's biography of Commodore James Barron, which was later titled An Affair of Honor: The Biography of Commodore James Barron, U. S. N.

Scrapbook volumes 1-4 of W. H. T. Squires's "Norfolk in By-Gone Days," published in the Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch from March 15, 1935 to April 8, 1948 in Norfolk, Virginia. The scrapbooks are accompanied by seven volumes of indexes. The collection also includes Squires's manuscript Virginia: Victor Tho Vanquished (1947).
