Notable buildings in the aerial photographs include City Hall, the Norfolk Fire Department, City Hall Garage, Fairfax Hotel, City Market, and the Monticello Arcade. Aerial photographs also include residential sections of Norfolk, particularly along the waterway, a few photographs of a track, and one photograph of a boat in the water.

Large-scale prints from an aerial photographic mission flown over the city of Norfolk on March 22, 1974. The prints are arranged by frame number and bound in nine large books. The Abrams Aerial Survey Corporation of Lansing, Michigan conducted the mission. The prints are scaled at 1 inch = 100 feet.
