The book has been disassembled and several sheets are missing. The content includes "A Sketch of Norfolk and Vicinity," and primarily includes circa 1895 prints of notable local places.

Typed copies of documents relating to Captain Arthur Emmerson between 1795 and 1864, including general orders, military correspondence, records of military pay, and a supplement to an eyewitness account of the Battle of Craney Island. A majority of the documents were written between 1813 and 1835.
