Full-frame (9"x9") contact prints from an aerial photographic mission flown over Norfolk and the surrounding areas on March 22, 1974. The Abrams Aerial Survey Corporation conducted the mission. Also included are the original print envelopes (printed with mission information).

This collection includes 35mm color photographic slides documenting development projects in downtown Norfolk, Virginia and in various city neighborhoods, development planning studies and projects around the city, and planning-related maps and graphics. Some aerial photographs are included. Some slides are missing.

Records relating to the planning, design, and construction of a new downtown civic center (including a city hall, courts, a city jail, and administrative offices and buildings) and new cultural center (including various public buildings and spaces) in the area near the current Chrysler Museum. Included are planning reports, City Planning Commission records, city correspondence, and internal city memorandums and documents.
