Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of administrative records from the Department of Neighborhood Services. Most administrative records contained within come from the Division of Community Engagement within the department, and pertains to initiatives such as Neighbors Building Neighborhoods and Neighborhood Academy. Records are also subdivided by specific neighborhoods and communities within the City of Norfolk. Records included are meeting minutes, agendas, reports, presentations, surveys, stastical data, advertising material, photographs, maps, guidebooks, correspondence, manuals, and CDs. This collection also includes publications and material from when the department was known as the Bureau of Community Enrichment, a division under the former Department of Planning and Community Development, as well as other publications and material from other City of Norfolk departments that are integrative with the mission of the Department of Neighborhood Services.
