1918 Monticello Hotel Fire Photographs
Seven 1918 photographs of the Monticello Hotel and adjacent buildings during the fire on January 1 and aftermath. Some photographs feature a fire truck with attached fire ladder covered in icicles in front of the building. Identifiable building signs include Norfolk County Farms and Monticello Hotel Barber Shop.

Rowland with a copy of Historical Sketch of the Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia, from its Organization in 1794 to 1879 to aid in his research of the history of the Norfolk Fire Department.
