Norfolk Public Schools Jamestown Exposition Exhibit Books
Scope and Contents
Three books compiled by Norfolk Public Schools featuring students' work in 1st-7th grades from February - May 1907 for an exhibit of the School Board of the City of Norfolk at the Jamestown Exposition. Each book highlights pupils' assignments from different schools: Atlantic City School No. 2, Brambleton School No. 1, and Holt Street School in Norfolk, Virginia. Subject matter includes language, spelling, composition, grammar, mathematics, geography, history, and physiology. Some assignments include sketches and drawings. Each volume is organized by grade. Most pages include name of student, grade, age, and date.
