Membership applications for entry into the Pickett-Buchanan Camp of Confederate Veterans of Norfolk, Virginia. The application required the sum of two dollars and requested the applicant's age, place of birth, present occupation, present residence, present post-office address, date of entry into Confederate States service, place of enlistment or muster, rank at time of enlistment, rank at time of discharge, date of discharge, branch of service, specific area of assignment, hospital if sick or wounded, civic general statement of war record, and signatures. The applications were printed by Green, Burke & Gregory, Steam Printers and Book-Binders, Virginian Building, Norfolk, Virginia. Some entries have correspondence attached to the applications, and some entries note the veterans' deaths.
