Scope and Contents
One book of the Corporation Court, City of Norfolk, Virginia recording contract dockets of personal property from 1886-1891. The volume lists date of contract, when docketed, name of vendor, name of vendee, amount due on contract, and a description of the property. Examples of personal property recorded include but are not limited to matresses, tables, chairs, rugs, carpets, refrigerators, stoves, musical instruments, bicycles, and carriages. There is an index in front organized in alphabetical order by last name of vendee.
