One 170-page record book containing handwritten transcriptions of court records primarily from the Corporation Court of the City of Norfolk and the Circuit Court of Norfolk County, Virginia. The circa 1870s-1880s transcriptions were written in pencil and in ink and appear to be written by various individuals. The first several pages include pasted clippings featuring auction sales, legal notices, commissioner's sales, and trustee's sales in Norfolk, Virginia.

One December 21, 1808 to September 25, 1810 ledger containing names of plaintiffs and defendants, and monetary amounts, primarily received by Samuel Calvert, Sheriff. Also one 1916-1934 ledger of Abner S. Pope.

Three handwritten manuscript volumes consisting of No. 19, 20, and 21 of Brief Abstract of Norfolk County Wills. The volumes cover 1636-1716, 1710-1753, and 1753-1766 respectively. Also includes one copy of Some Emigrants to Virginia belonging to C. F. McIntosh with handwritten inscriptions.

Scope and Contents One book of the Corporation Court, City of Norfolk, Virginia recording contract dockets of personal property from 1886-1891. The volume lists date of contract, when docketed, name of vendor, name of vendee, amount due on contract, and a description of the property. Examples of personal property recorded include but are not limited to matresses, tables, chairs, rugs, carpets, refrigerators, stoves, musical instruments, bicycles, and carriages. One bound volume consisting of 30 official Norfolk-related court documents issued by either the Commonwealth of Virginia or King George III. Most of the documents included in this collection date from 1780-1782, although the records range between 1771 and 1782. A majority of the records were signed by Alexander Moseley, Clerk of the Court.
