50 volumes of the "First Landing" newsletter dated between 2000-2016 and published by the Virginia Beach Genealogical Society.

This newsletter is the successor to the "VBGS Newsletter" that ran from 1984 to August 2000. It's statement of purpose has remained the same, containing "articles of interest to genealogical researchers, search queries, as well as notice of coming society events."

Scope and Contents Five circa 1960s-1970s scrapbooks compiled by Grace O. Cornick of Norfolk, Virginia. Scrapbooks 1-4 contain articles written by Cornick on various Norfolk history topics, including churches, hospitals, city government, schools, and historic houses and buildings. Scrapbook 5 contains clippings, ephemera, and photographs relating to Epworth United Methodist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. Scope and Contents

Fourteen passes, ticket stubs, and membership cards to various venues and organizations in Norfolk and Virginia Beach dating between the late 1910s to early 1930s.  These venues and organizations included are Seaside Park, Auspices Norfolk Sleuth Club, Norva Theatre, Coral Gables Kennel Club, Ocean View Park, Virginia Electric and Power Company, Woodmen of the World Club, Loyal Order of Moose, B.P.O. Elks, and Norfolk Fair.

Scope and Contents

Two 1950s clipping scrapbooks of articles written by Louisa Venable Kyle of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The collection also includes a Kyle-Venable Family book of origins featuring genealogical research and photographs of ancestral homes and plantation houses, compiled by Louisa Venable Kyle in Summer 1968. There are also writings of and about Louisa Venable Kyle dating from 1950-1990 in the collection.

Two "The Lineage" newsletters produced by the Tidewater Chapter of Virginia, Beach, Virginia of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. Issue date ranges include 1994-1995. Issues focus on local chapter events and research as well as national organization news.

One 261-page paper titled The Lost Settlement of Wash Woods: Connecting the Outer Banks of VA and NC by Dr. Robert L. Baxter, Jr. This copy is version 8.9.40, January 9, 2015. A watermark running diagonally through each page says, "Registered With Writers Guild of America East."
