One 170-page record book containing handwritten transcriptions of court records primarily from the Corporation Court of the City of Norfolk and the Circuit Court of Norfolk County, Virginia. The circa 1870s-1880s transcriptions were written in pencil and in ink and appear to be written by various individuals. The first several pages include pasted clippings featuring auction sales, legal notices, commissioner's sales, and trustee's sales in Norfolk, Virginia.

Three handwritten manuscript volumes consisting of No. 19, 20, and 21 of Brief Abstract of Norfolk County Wills. The volumes cover 1636-1716, 1710-1753, and 1753-1766 respectively. Also includes one copy of Some Emigrants to Virginia belonging to C. F. McIntosh with handwritten inscriptions.

One-hundred thirty pages of photocopies featuring Lieutenant Colonel Walter H. Taylor's Flash-Lights from Headquarters of the Army of Northern Virginia and approximately 76 photocopied documents and research notes relating to Taylor. Most of the research notes are transcriptions and some of the transcription notes have been written on the photocopied manuscripts. The date of the original materials is primarily 1862 to 1865.

Scope and Contents Five circa 1960s-1970s scrapbooks compiled by Grace O. Cornick of Norfolk, Virginia. Scrapbooks 1-4 contain articles written by Cornick on various Norfolk history topics, including churches, hospitals, city government, schools, and historic houses and buildings. Scrapbook 5 contains clippings, ephemera, and photographs relating to Epworth United Methodist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. Miscellaneous original and photocopied materials relating to the Tatem family in Norfolk, Virginia from 1835 to 1954. Several items relate to Roger William Tatem (1891-1984) during his school years and early career from 1914 to 1918.

One 1831-1837 diary recounting Thomas L. Robertson's thoughts and experiences. Most diary entries include information about sermons preached at Christ Church in Norfolk, Virginia. Entries also focus on deaths of local individuals and Robertson's own failing health. Includes separate correspondence found in diary as well as some transcribed diary entries.

Two books containing transcribed legal records of the Borough of Norfolk between 1783 and 1810. There are indexes in the front of both books which list brigs, schooners, ships, sloops, companies, and names of individuals. Many of the entries concern sea protests.
