One 1956-1960 scrapbook relating to events and activities of the Tidewater District PTA in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Two 1959-1961 scrapbooks from the Tidewater District Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs. Also known as The Federation of Garden Clubs of Norfolk & Vicinity, Inc., the scrapbooks include an alphabetical collection of pages from local garden clubs in the Hampton Roads region. Each page is unique, consisting of paintings, drawings, magazine clippings, newspaper clippings, poems, yearly summation of activities, lists of officers and members, mottos, and poems.

Three diaries ranging from February 1, 1878 to March 18, 1893 and belonging to W. S. Dunford of Bowers Hill, Virginia. Each volume is precluded by the title "Account of time." The brief daily entries primarily include Dunford's weather observations, while sometimes including chores, travels from home, and significant daily events. The front and back inside covers of each volume include simple poems and quotations, along with autographs.

Letters from Walker Jones, a private of the 11th Virginia Infantry, to his family during the Civil War between 1861 and 1863. Also includes one letter each from his brothers, Charles W. and James.

Forty-one late 19th century to early 20th century photographs of people, ships, houses, and businesses. Identified geographic locations include Norfolk, Suffolk, Fort Monroe, and Mathews, Virginia. Several photographs may relate to the Jamestown Exposition in Norfolk, Virginia.
