Scope and Contents
Family papers of Owen Robert O'Connor and wife Beulah O'Connor (nee Rutter) including clippings, correspondence, photographs, school records, and military records. Military records of Owen O'Connor include U. S. Army service records, uniform patches, ration cards, photographs, medical and disability files, and place of duty records during WWII for Eqypt, Casablanca, and the Nuremberg Trials in Nuremberg, Germany. Family records include baby albums and funeral albums. Family members represented include Mary Susan O'Connor, Owen Robert O'Connor, Jr., Bessie Vernelson Rutter, and Roland L. Rutter. A small collection of rosaries and Knights of Columbus pins is also included.

Biographical or Historical Information
The collection represents the family papers of Owen Robert O'Connor and his wife, Beulah Leona O'Connor (nee Rutter) of Portsmouth, Virginia, along with their children Mary Susan O'Connor and Owen Robert O'Connor, Jr. Owen Robert O'Connor served in the U.S. Army as a Private during WWII (1943-1946) in Germany and in the Persian Gulf. He was present during the Nuremberg Trials in Nuremberg, Germany.
