The Sargeant Memorial Collection Postcard Collection houses postcards from the Norfolk area, Hampton Roads, Richmond, Washington, D.C., the state of Virginia and surrounding states, and the Jamestown Exposition. Some postcards in the collection are postmarked from the early 1900s.

The collection includes news clippings on various topics and places across Virginia. It is divided into three main sections: general Virginia subjects; Virginia counties; and Virginia cities, towns and places. Each section is organized into sub-topics as appropriate. The collection also includes a section on North Carolina and several other states.

Miscellaneous original and photocopied materials relating to the Tatem family in Norfolk, Virginia from 1835 to 1954. Several items relate to Roger William Tatem (1891-1984) during his school years and early career from 1914 to 1918.

One 1956-1960 scrapbook relating to events and activities of the Tidewater District PTA in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Specific geographic areas mentioned in the scrapbook include Norfolk, Norfolk County, Portsmouth, and Suffolk. The scrapbook includes clippings, correspondence, photographs, programs, and other materials. Subject matter includes federal school funding, massive resistance, educational workshops, and PTA meetings.

Two 1959-1961 scrapbooks from the Tidewater District Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs. Also known as The Federation of Garden Clubs of Norfolk & Vicinity, Inc., the scrapbooks include an alphabetical collection of pages from local garden clubs in the Hampton Roads region. Each page is unique, consisting of paintings, drawings, magazine clippings, newspaper clippings, poems, yearly summation of activities, lists of officers and members, mottos, and poems.

Late 19th century and early 20th century photographs of the Vermillion family of Portsmouth, Virginia and a 1946 funeral book of Eaver Raby Vermillion.

Thirteen 1936-1948 scrapbooks featuring the column "Norfolk in By-Gone Days" by W. H. T. Squires. Topics include individuals, buildings, ships, notable events, holidays, transportation, and politics. The scrapbooks also include personal notes and correspondence. Volume 1 is missing.

The William Benjamin Beauchamp Family Papers primarily include circa 1918-1931 correspondence from William Benjamin Beauchamp's daughter, Dorothy Murden, to her husband, Virginius B. Murden, Jr. The collection also includes newspaper clippings, various ephemera relating to finances, travel, and education, and family photographs.
