 Collection — Multiple Containers
Identifier: 001-01-MSS 0000-082

Scope and Contents

One mid-nineteenth to mid-twentieth century scrapbook containing clippings, genealogical information, and other materials related to the Whittle family, Christ Church, and Christ and Saint Luke's Church in Norfolk, Virginia. Handwritten genealogies trace the ancestry of several prominent connected Norfolk families, including Calvert, Dabney, Neilson, Page, and Walke. The scrapbook traces the Whittle family genealogy to Pocahontas. Much of the loose materials from the scrapbook relate to the death of Winston Churchill in 1965. Other information includes wedding announcements, obituaries, Norfolk history, historic buildings and homes in Virginia, and national and international news.
